Terms of Service

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

Linqtab is a web based project management tool for game development teams, at linqtab.com and through its public REST API. It is operated by [COMPANY], called "we" or "us" below.

These terms are the agreement between you and [COMPANY]. By creating an account or using the service in any way, you accept them. If you do not, please do not use Linqtab.

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we handle and why. It is part of this agreement.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16, or older if the age of digital consent in your country is higher. Linqtab is not designed for children.

You also need to be able to enter a binding agreement where you live. If you use Linqtab for a studio or a company, you confirm you may accept these terms on its behalf, and "you" then means you and that organisation.

3. Your account

You sign up with an email address, a public login handle and a password, which we store only as a bcrypt hash, never in readable form. You can optionally add a profile name (first, middle, last) and an avatar. Your handle and profile details are visible to the people you work with.

You must verify your email address before the account becomes usable. Accounts that are never verified are deleted automatically after a short retention window, 7 days by default.

Signing in gives your browser a short lived access token plus a rotating refresh session in an HttpOnly cookie, which is strictly necessary for authentication.

Your account is your responsibility. Use a strong password, keep your email address current, and tell us at support@linqtab.com if you suspect someone else has access. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you.

Account deletion is currently manual: ask us and we will take care of it.

4. Acceptable use

Treat other users the way you would want to be treated. You must not:

• share anything unlawful where you are, where we are, or where our servers are;
• infringe copyright, trademarks or trade secrets, including game assets, code, art or audio you have no licence to use;
• upload sexual content involving minors, or material depicting the abuse of a person;
• harass, threaten, stalk, defame or incite violence against anyone, or post hate speech;
• publish another person's private information without their permission;
• upload or distribute malware, exploits, or anything built to damage a system or steal data;
• send spam, phishing or unsolicited advertising through invitations, comments or documents;
• impersonate another person, a studio, or the operator, including through your handle;
• attempt to reach accounts, organisations or data that are not yours, or to escalate your permissions;
• probe, scan, load test or attack the service, its infrastructure or its API without our written permission;
• work around quotas, rate limits, access controls or feature flags, or automate access in a way that degrades the service;
• scrape the product outside the documented public API, or resell, sublicense or white label access to it;
• reverse engineer, decompile or copy the software, except where applicable law says you may;
• use Linqtab as bulk file storage, a media host, a backup target or a content delivery network;
• upload other people's personal data without a lawful basis for doing so.

5. Your content and the licence you give us

"Your content" means everything you put into Linqtab: issues, comments, documents, uploaded files and images, board objects, assets and plans.

It stays yours. We claim no ownership of it, and we do not use it to advertise anything, sell to anyone, or train any AI model.

To run the service we need one narrow permission. You grant [COMPANY] a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty free licence to host, store, copy, back up, transmit and display your content, and to make the technical changes needed for that, such as generating thumbnails. The licence exists only so we can show your content to you and the people you share it with. It ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups, which persist for the retention period described in the Privacy Policy.

You confirm you have the rights to everything you upload. Content placed in an organisation is visible to its members and administrators according to their roles.

6. Our intellectual property

The Linqtab software, its interface and design, the name, our logo and our documentation belong to [COMPANY] or our licensors. While your account is active we give you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose. Nothing here transfers ownership or licenses our name or logo to you.

If you send us feedback or feature requests, we may use them freely to improve the product, with no obligation. That does not apply to your content, which stays yours.

7. Beta status, quotas and changes to the service

Linqtab is in free public beta. There are no paid plans, no payment processing, and we never see card data of any kind.

Usage quotas apply per organisation, covering things like how many organisations, files or objects you can create. They can change during beta.

Beta also means the product moves. We may add, change or remove features, restructure data, or discontinue parts of the service. We try to warn you in the product before something significant goes away, but during beta we cannot promise it.

8. Third party services and the AI assistant

We run Linqtab on servers rented from Hetzner Online GmbH in Finland, send email through Resend, and collect crash reports through Sentry. The Privacy Policy describes what each receives.

8.1 The AI assistant

Linqtab includes an optional, experimental AI assistant, off unless you turn it on. It works on a bring your own key basis: you supply your own API key for a model provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, OpenRouter or Google), or point it at a local model.

Your key is held in your browser's sessionStorage and requests go from your browser straight to the provider. We never receive or store the key, and we are not a party to your relationship with that provider. Anything you send to the model, including issue text or document content, is handled under that provider's terms and privacy policy, so read them before sending anything sensitive. You are responsible for your key, for what your provider charges you, and for following their rules.

8.2 The local bridge

We also offer an optional bridge program you download and run on your own computer. It is experimental and you run it at your own risk, including whatever it does on your machine.

9. The public API

Linqtab exposes a public REST API using OAuth2 client credentials. API keys and client secrets are your responsibility: treat them like passwords and rotate them if they leak. Anything done with your credentials counts as done by you. We may rate limit traffic, and during beta we may change endpoints, payloads or scopes.

10. Availability, and why you should keep your own copies

There is no uptime guarantee and no service level agreement during beta. We may take the service down for maintenance, sometimes without notice. Outages, data loss and bugs are possible.

We take daily database backups, encrypted at rest on disk and kept for a limited period. They exist for disaster recovery, not as a personal backup service, and we cannot promise to restore an individual document, file or issue.

So export or copy anything critical: if it matters to your studio, keep it somewhere you control as well.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account, an organisation, or specific content if you break these terms, if there is a credible legal or security risk, if the service is abused, or if the law requires it. Where practical and lawful, we will tell you why and let you fix it first.

You may leave whenever you want: ask us to delete your account, or delete your content in the product. Access then ends and content is deleted according to the retention rules in the Privacy Policy. Copies may survive in backups until that period rolls over.

The sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and governing law survive termination.

12. Disclaimers

Linqtab is provided as is and as available. To the maximum extent allowed by law we give no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, or that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, error free, or that your data will be preserved.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties to be excluded. There, this section applies only as far as the law permits, and your mandatory consumer rights are not affected.

13. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, [COMPANY] is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential damages, nor for lost profits, revenue, goodwill, business opportunities, or lost or corrupted data.

Because the service is free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims relating to Linqtab is zero. Where a zero cap is not enforceable, our liability is limited to the smallest nominal amount applicable law allows.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

14. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend and indemnify [COMPANY] against claims, damages, losses and reasonable legal costs arising from your content, your use of the service, the AI assistant or the local bridge, your API credentials, or your breach of these terms. This does not apply where you are a consumer and local law forbids it.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product grows or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version. If a change materially affects your rights, we will give notice in the product or by email before it takes effect, unless it must be immediate for legal or security reasons. Keep using Linqtab afterwards and you accept the new terms.

16. Governing law and venue

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protection of mandatory rules where you live, and you may also be able to bring proceedings there.

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
